Usability is moving up. You need to know a bit of EA Kung-fu that can dramatically simplify your workflow and get rid of a ton of palettes, popups and so on.

I am mostly working on a diagram, a project browser, and a notes/tagged values window.

Check what F3 does, the Ctrl-Right-Click on a diagram is your friend as is the quicklinker.

I think you can forget about OSX native but it works great on VMWare fusion. As an alternative, just connect to your Windows box through remote desktop or get a Citrix install somewhere so that you can connect to it. I am using all of these techniques and I am happy with them.

I am surprised that you say there is a lack on BPMN2. What is it precisely? Which version do you have?

We may do some cool stuff by working together as VARs for sure!

Hi Philippe,

that is very interesting to hear. I was working with Enterprise Architect in a couple of projects. I just wish they would put more effort in usability issues. And if Sparx could think about native os X support and BPMN 2.0 (updated plugin) I will apply as a VAR myself ;-)

However, that software is great.

Best greetings,

Bernd

Hi Philippe,

thank you very much for this insight into project risks. You really bring it to the point. I realize too often that project managers jump from one side of the triangle to the other. Even if they know of the triangle's vertices the temptation doing so appears too alluring. And of course they will mess up the project instead of reducing one aspect (e.g. scope).

Take care,

Bernd
